Syntax highlighting seems to be broken in recent builds, at least as far back as 4161. I have a really old build (CFBundleVersion 6.0.0.0.200705021220, don't know the build number -- sorry) that still works fine.
Oddly, the newer builds work fine on my Quad G5. They are broken on my MacBook Pro 2.4GHz. Corrupt preference somewhere? But why would the older build work?
Hmmm. In what way is syntax highlighting broken? All the colors are black and white? Or some other symptom? Can you attach a screenshot (unless it's black & white which would be obvious). Can you try running with an alternative user directory? That would point to some corrupted settings. Try netbeans --userdir /tmp/foobar (or some other nonexistent directory name) Assuming that's the problem I'd be interested in seeing your userdir (the bad one obviously - invoke NetBeans and look in the about box for its location). Can you zip up the config/ portion of the userdir and attach it?
Created attachment 49499 [details] zip of dev directory
Yes, all text is black and white. Running with a different user directory restored the expected syntax highlighting behavior. The zip of the dev directory is too big to attach -- please send me e-mail and I'll mail it to you.
Maybe I lied -- it looks like the attachment worked.

I'm not sure what exactly this could be, but userdir settings may change incompatibly among the daily builds (we work to preserve compatibility among major releases) so this was probably a matter of some setting name changes. Please reopen if you see problems with syntax highlighting now.
