am in ja locale, using pseudo localized netbeans 1. create uml project - I am using a project created by rev eng. 2. create a diagram, for example class diagram. 3. diagram appears 4. in console, not in the log file, is msg Warning: The encoding 'EUC_JP_Solaris' is not supported by the Java runtime. but nb view of the users locale is eucJP-open with ja_JP encoding (same as euc-jp) and the uml project is probably using that encoding since it does not have project encoding property. I dont know if this is from jdk or uml; but I have never seen this msg in other than using uml. I don't have any evidence that uml is not performing ok, but the msg could be confusing to users.
can this be fixed for nb6 ? I think of more imporatance now is to make sure the msg is not indication of some more basic encoding handling problem of uml functionality. ken.frank@sun.com
is this for all platform or just on solaris?
I have not seen on windows; not sure about linux or mac, but at least true for solaris.
it could be good to have this evaluated, to see if it is a harmless warning vs that encoding is not being really recognized and handled in some way. ken.frank@sun.com
this has been seen in relation to some other issues also; please evaluate this so it can be fixed for 6.1 or a patch. that is, perhaps the word warning in description is not accurate, vs it being an actual problem or symptom of a real problem vs just a warning (which still can be confusing to user) -- thus eval of this will help and to see if it should be p2 which would involve functionality. ken.frank@sun.com
need to be reverified in 6.5. I'm marking it fixed so it will be reverified.
will verify soon using latest uml; also will use opensolaris since thats the new primary supported solaris platform for 6.5
