I suggest to provide a tool tip which pops up, if mouse is positioned on filename in the Projects browser. The info shown there should be: - branch - version - log or history info - <more suggestions> Additionally/alternatively there should be an entry in the Subversion context menu.
You can customize it in "Tools | Options | Miscellaneous | Versioning | Subversion -> Subversion Status Labels". You can define what textual annotation should be displayed next to nodes in explorers. Then don't forget to switch on "View | Show Versioning Labels" option.
i'm going to close this as it seems that the feature you requested already is covered by the "Show Versioning Labels" functionality.
I reopen this issue, because the "Show Versioning Labels" functionality does not satisfy my expectation. 1.) It wastes space on the screen, and disturbs overview especially in the editors tabs. 2.) It's impossible to show the log entries this way.
- the log entry you want to see is the last one from the history, am i right? josef - how do you see this?
Yes, that's right! Additional Option: chooseable last ..3..5
Also shown "Subversion/CVS Status Labels" should truncate leading and trailing spaces.
To avoid, that such tooltips annoy to much, I additionally suggest, that the tooltip only pops up, if the mouse pointer is exactly positioned in the small "badges area" between the file's icon and the file's name.
