Description miles 2001-03-19 18:34:54 UTC
For some reason, Im unable to open the object browser in 3.2 beta builds from
either the Window->windows->browsing menu or the view menu. The project->
settings window shows it as 'visible-true'

It has always been there in the dev builds - up to 142 which was the last one I
installed

I am using solaris and the last NB32 build # 8. I started the build as a clean
one (removed the nbuser32 directory) and do not see this problem. Please try it
reproduce with the latest 32 build. Check if the you have the Tools/Object
Browser module enabled. If the problem still persist, please attach as much info
as you can (IDE log ...). Thanks.

Confirmed: NB 3.2-9, W2K, MDI (!) mode.

I've deleted the contents of the user directory, started IDE, selected MDI,
switched to Browsing -> no browser window (Properties only).

Dafe, please check if the problem is on your side.
Comment 4 Fred Rotbart 2001-03-27 09:48:24 UTC
The Object Browser is there but hidden. You can make it visible as follows:
1. Select the ObjectBrowser in the menu Window>Windows>Browsing>Object Browser.
2. Immediately select the menu Window>Attach MDI Frame>Top
The browser appears with zero height. Grab it and stretch.

This problem only seems to occur if you start a virgin copy of Netbeans in MDI
mode.

If you first start in SDI mode and later switch, the browser is there.

Fred, good point!
It's exactly like you described. I already have this bug fixed on my local
computer, I expect I will check the fix tomorrow.

Fred, it seems that you understand window system a bit...don't you want to
participate and help us fix some bugs? :-))) (ok, ok, just kidding)
