Description athompson 2007-04-09 14:34:56 UTC
1. arrange your windows so they are all slide-in windows, as in the first
picture attachment.
2. restart netbeans.
3! slide out the 'Favorites' or 'Runtime' window by hovering over it. the window
is blank and gray for several seconds as it initializes, and i have a fast
machine. see second picture attachment.

a reasonable fix would be to have the window the proper color and say something
like, 'Initializing, please wait...'.

I'm changing to defect and passing to favorites component. It is content inside
the window which takes long time to initialize, not window system infrastructure
itself.
Anybody knows who owns Runtime window?

It is not performance issue. Simply Favorites tab does not display its content
at all. Everything is displayed ok when you leave button and get back to it by
mouse cursor ie. next Favorites tab invocation is ok. BeanTreeView is not
displayed at all even if it is in AWT hierarchy. I have no idea why it fails.
Assigning to explorer for evaluation. I will attach log with part of AWT
hierarchy. You can see that in first case when Favorites tab is empty
BeanTreeView has zero bounds: org.openide.explorer.view.BeanTreeView[,0,0,0x0,

Second correct display: org.openide.explorer.view.BeanTreeView[,0,0,451x923

Root context is set. Any hint from explorer what could be wrong would be helpfull.

Comment 7 athompson 2007-06-07 15:16:02 UTC
same with Services tab (a.k.a Runtime)
Comment 8 t_h 2008-02-12 10:58:19 UTC
Is this still an issue? It seems it works for me in NB 6.0.
Comment 9 t_h 2008-02-13 16:17:42 UTC
Closing as works for me, please reopen if problem occurs.

always reproducible by using the steps above. make sure you only hover over the 'Favorites' window. in fact, it will
stay gray forever until you exit the window and enter again.
