Bug 27714

Summary: VCS Group: Invalid file status of deleted file with "locally added" status
Product: obsolete Reporter: David Kaspar <dkaspar>
Component: vcscoreAssignee: Martin Entlicher <mentlicher>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P4
Version: 3.x
Hardware: Sun
OS: All
Issue Type: DEFECT Exception Reporter:

Description David Kaspar 2002-10-01 16:35:05 UTC
How to reproduce:
1) Mount CVS fs
2) Create a file
3) Add file into cvs
4) Add file into some VCS Group
5) NOTE - See status of file in VCS Group - it is
"Locally Added" - this is correct
6) Delete file in the Explorer
7) ERROR - See status of file in VCS Group - it is
"Needs Update" - this is incorrect - probably it
should be "(broken link)"
Comment 1 Martin Entlicher 2003-08-06 17:05:58 UTC
Why should this be considered as a bug??
IMHO the bug is, that after you run CVS -> Remove on such [Needs
Update] file, it correctly disappears from the Explorer, but stays in
the Groups. After it disappears it should change to the Broken Link.
This is likely a bug in vcscore.
Comment 2 Jiri Kovalsky 2003-08-07 11:51:10 UTC
So you think that broken link should be presented only in case when
the node really does not exist ? Okay, I tend to agree. Just fix the
problem you are pointing to ...
Comment 3 Martin Entlicher 2005-02-07 16:27:07 UTC
It's marked as "Broken Link" in 4.1. It was probably fixed somehow in
the shadow data object...
