I am struggling with workspaces. They get in the way of how I work. I work in SDI mode with all windows full-screen. I use the OS's window manager to switch between them. I never have to worry about arranging windows and therefore, almost any screen size is OK for me (800*600 is best). This is a very efficient way to work. It is quite unfortunate that with the latest GUI changes, all icons are the same. This basically kills SDI mode. I hope that you are aware of this. I am as frustrated with NetBeans as I never was before. Before these new GUI changes, NetBeans was almost perfect. Please refer to issue #39460 - "Icons of all windows are the same" The fact that there might be a workspace-less mode doesn't count much for me, because I could quite easily add all windows I ever want to every workspace without any adverse effects. At the moment - where the workspaces tabs are missing from the main window - the bigger issue is: How to manage workspaces? Again, the new GUI changes are not very helpful. I hope this will change. I believe this is obsolete now and should be closed. Obsolete as of 3.6. |
