The word "applet" shows as a misspelled word in the new IDE.  I would suggest adding common comment terms, such as "applet", "JRE", to the dictionary?

This is not really a defect, but a feature that is not present. I am changing this Issue Type to ENHANCEMENT.

Also, you can create this file and add your own custom words if you like.

%USER_HOME%/.netbeans/<netbeans version>/private-dictionary-en_US

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
