Could you please provide NetBeans log after the failure? http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqLogMessagesFile Thanks I failed. It appears on the other desktop. That would explain why there is nothing in logs. Sorry for trouble. False alarm :) PLease close or whatever the status should be. OK. Closing as invalid. Sorry --- but I think this IS a bug. When starting the app don't put the window outside the viewable screen area. Attach 2nd monitor. Move IDE window to second monitor. Shut down Netbeans Remove Monitor (in my case I had Restarted PC etc.) Restart Netbeans Its on the taskbar -- but window is effectively 'invisible'. Workaround: Ctrl-Space to move it back over.
