Description graeme_m_ross 2008-08-29 15:56:02 UTC
Using a clean install of Netbeans 6.5Beta. I find I cannot create a new Project

I select New Project for a Java Application and then accept all the defaults. The wizard stops 25% of the way through
with the message cvd-complex-type.4: Attribute 'id' must appear on element 'root'

See the screen dump

Duplicate of something, caused by problem in JDK 1.6 xml processor, the issue is already fixed.
Update your JDK 1.6
Anyway can you attach the nbproject/project.xml file?

Comment 6 graeme_m_ross 2008-08-29 17:05:51 UTC
As far as I am aware, I am at the latest version of the JDK (I have autoupdate switched on)

I will attach the project.xml, however remember this error is occurring when I am trying to create the project so there
is not a lot in it

I have now updated to the latest JDK, appernetly the autoupdate had not run since the beginning of the month

I am now getting "Project folder already exists and is not empty" message

This happens no matter what I call the project

Looks very similar to Issue 140905 which is fixed in latest development builds.
Could you please try the latest dev build?

Agreed, this is the same as 140905. I have downloaded the latest build and it seems ok now

I will close the bug
