1.JAWS reads correctly the position in the window (e.g. following steps): -pushing alt to go to main menu (Jaws reads 'Menu Bar; File; To navigate press left and right arrow; F) -push arrow down to select the first available item (JAWS read 'Menu; New Project...; W; Shift+Control+N; Menu; To move through items press up and down arrow') 2.'Go to line' dialog is really weird. Jaws cannot read the dialog even if INSERT+B is invoked to read the dialog. I am passing to editor for evaluation - I don't know whether implementation of this dialog is common or somehow special. 3.Alt followed by Space reads correctly the menu item. Conclusion from evaluation: Only point 2 is the valid issue. I will change subject and passing to editor. Thanks, we will have a look. It would help us to know how to install/setup JAWS (preferably on linux). I for example have never used screen reading software before. Thanks Jaro, could you please provide some advise? Thanks. Guys the full name for JAWS screen reader is JAWS® for Windows® and it cannot be installed on Linux - google will help you how to install on Windows. On Linux we have different screen readers (Orca), but this issue references JAWS. Is it reproducible with Orca? will look if will be able to setup jaws om my desktop. tried with jaws 10, accessible bridge 2.01, java 6, 6.7m3 java se. was able to reproduce the issue in most cases, sometimes dialog was read. not sure if will have enough time to debug with jaws demo. switched to java 5 and have the same, reproducible with Go To FIle (alt-shif-o), replace (ctrl-h), go to symbol (ctrl-shift-alt-o) if invoked at empty space. have workaround - press tab, insert-b - dialog will be recognized and read by jaws finally I'm not able to reproduce neither with locally build latest code nor with downloaded full 090427 build. not sure if anything was changed in windows manager so mark as incomplete for now before anybody else will be able to verify too. So is this issue still valid? Without requested information for long time - INVALID. We can't do anything in this case. Reporter, please add requested information and reopen issue. Thanks in advance. |
