Moving issue to Core Module. btw. I have the same problem (MDI - 3.2 Build39): 1.) The focus is in editor 2.) Now press ALT-F. The File menu is opened. 3.) Now press CANCEL. The File menu was closed, and focus should be moved back to editor. But it isn't. I do not know who has the focus, but if I do ALT-LeftArrow and ALT-RightArrow, the focus is back in editor. Try also: 2.1) ALT+TAB to switch to some other app 2.2) ALT+TAB to switch back to Netbeans. The result is that caret appears in editor, but focus is still in File menu. Canceling File menu now returns focus back to editor. Hope it helps. assigning Focus things....NIGHTMARE...it there anybody who understand it and can fix all these problems? Do a fix, send patch here and you'll make me really happy :-) I would help if I could, but don't have any time. Sorry! Other test case when focus is causing problems: 1) in editor press CTRL+F1 on some class for which you have JavaDoc 2) Javadoc Index Search window is opened 3) press CTRL+F4 to close the Javadoc Index Search window 4) I would expect that focus will return to editor. But it won't. It is lost. Only way how to get focus back to editor is only by mouse or by CTRL+3 the focus loss after Alt+F (goto File menu) and Esc has been fixed. the original reported problem is very likely a duplicate of #16755 *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 16755 *** Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> verified.
