Description esmithbss 2010-04-15 08:45:38 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201004150201)
Operating System = Linux version 2.6.32-20-generic running on i386
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_19
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 16.2-b04

When editing a file, if you add or delete rows, the syntax highlighting can be delayed or not launched at all. However, when you cursor over a line, it can re-highlight that line separately from the remainder of the file.

This can result in editors with visuals like that shown in the attached screenshot.

Within the screen capture, notice that the majority of the file is straight black text on white background; however, the 11 lines following the large break in the file (added lines to trigger the bug) are highlighted. Each line that is highlighted did so as I cursored over the line.

In the second screenshot, I used the mouse to jump up in the editor. Upon clicking in the file, the lines between the mouse cursor and the previously highlighted text was immediately highlighted. Subsequent lines highlighted as I cursored over them.

Paging up and down through the file continues to highlight lines between the previously highlighted lines and the cursor position.
