It seems that etc/netbeans.conf file has not been reviewed for a long time. There is the following comment inside: # --- tips for more advanced options you could use --- # for JDKs where it is supported (for example Sun's JDK 5.0 and newer), # you can use the following set of options which enable Concurrent Mark and # Sweep garbage collection algorithm and improve UI responsiveness # (see FAQ item http://www.netbeans.org/kb/faqs/performance.html#FaqGCPauses) Frankly speaking, this link doesn`t work. For now this link should be changed to the next one: http://wiki.netbeans.info/wiki/view/FaqGCPauses I mark this issue as P2 so that the fix to be included before 5.5 release goes live. Generally, this link is used in all netbeans.conf files. All branches of IDE - 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 - use this link. Of course, it is not a stopper for upcoming 5.5 RCs but it is preferable to fix it ASAP.
Good catch. I also edited the rest of the comments in minor ways. ide/launcher/netbeans.conf 1.20 Which reminds me (Jack) that someone should grep NB sources for dead FAQ links like this.
