BTW: if you write eg. "Scanner s;", the hint will be proposed. This bug was reported against NetBeans IDE 6.0 or an older release, or against a non-maintained module. NetBeans team does not have enough resources to get to this issue, therefore we are closing the issue as a WONTFIX. Example, when I entered public static void main(String[] args) { // Create a scanner for input Scanner } Netbeans should ask me to import Scanner or create a new one rather than show me the error.
