Description Marian Mirilovic 2006-01-12 11:11:26 UTC
NB5.0-RC1, JDK 1.5.0_06

Once you open Find in Projects dialog, you'll see tab called "Object name". I
think it has to be misleading for users, what daes actually it mean? I think
it's just File name.

"Object name" of a file refers to the name of the DataObject representation of
the file. It is clearly a propagation of the implementation aspect to the user
interface.

In most cases, "object name" of a file is equal to the file name without extension.

I have already filed a request for enhancement to use file name instead of
"object name" - see issue #57717 ("Search by filenames instead of object names").

The Find dialogue has been redesigned and file names are now checked instead of
object names, as requested. See issue #35255 ("Redesign UI for entering search
criteria") for more information.

The first NetBeans milestone with redesigned Find dialogue is Milestone 10.
