*** Issue 64720 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** That would be great, but: *) it's too late for such a big UI change *) It is not a bug. Let's keep this as P1 enhancement for next release. Petr, nice try ... I know you won't agree, but: > *) it's too late for such a big UI change - this is not a reason to change DEF->ENH > *) It is not a bug. - This is an usability bug. I agree with downgrading the priority to P2, so you can ask for waiver. I was actually ballancing between P1/ENH and P2/DEFECT. I thought keeping P1 would be more important for you but I have no strong preferrence :-) Oops, sorry, my browser remembered my previous state... I've been discussing with Petr the tasks he is going to work next and we also touched this issue. I agree that the described behaviour is annoying, but I am not sure whether to classify it as highly visible or just minor usability problem. I tend to see it as minor one. Could not the priority be updated accordingly? Yarda, Petr,
I am not sure we are on the same wave, but I try.
I think, there is a very annying and highly visible usability bug:
- If user invokes action and window, that is waiting for the input is opened as
docked one - I guess it's really strange.
( could you imagine the same behaviour for example for your Firefox? after
pushing firefox icon, there will be just the panel somewhere on the main window
waiting for your login/passwd - no dialog? )
- Another issue (Petr said that both issues will be solved at once, that was the
reason I agreed to close the second one as the duplicate of this one) is that
the window is changed, means the old one is removed from the WS and it's
replaced by another one - I think user has to be lost in such UI
This is from QA point of view. Just to point it out, HIE found this as two P1s
usability problems. Probably they changed their mind, but I haven't seen
another/different comments or statement yet.
So to answer your question:
> Could not the priority be updated accordingly?
There were 2 usability bugs with priority P1, after some discussion it's changed
to one P2. So if you want update priority accordingly, I vote for P1.
Ok, so here is an HIE input: I didn’t change my mind. I’m still thinking this issue is a Defect and I disagree with changing it to an Enhancement. In addition to that, this is really visible UI bug (Marian described it well); the workflow is strange, the UI is not intuitive and the first impression is really bad IMO. So from UI point of view this issue must be definitely fixed. I’d like to see this issue to be fixed in this promo, however, if there is no time to do such a UI change, I'm be able to accept waiving this issue to promo G, because it’s an add-on module. Let's waive this issue, no time to do it and functionality is not broken by it. *** Issue 69909 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Reassigning to issues@collab. Collab Support plugin is not actively maintained. Obsoleted in 6.7 by the newly introduced integration with Project Kenai, a collaborative environment for developers to host their open-source projects, which includes also a chat service. This bug was reported against NetBeans IDE 6.0 or an older release, or against a non-maintained module. NetBeans team does not have enough resources to get to this issue, therefore we are closing the issue as a WONTFIX. If you are interested in providing a patch for this bug, please see our NetFIX guidelines for how to proceed. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you. The NetBeans Team v/c |
