Try copying/pasting  some text into an XML 
document , then do it again, with different 
text. The new text isnt copy/pasted.

However, copy/pasting into a java file does 
something that resets some state and cures the 
problem.

More details - this doesnt seem to be an XML problem but an output 
window problem. The behavior occurs when copying out of an output 
window in a vaiety of situations.
