Using kit 0300325
Occurs with J2SE 1.4.0_03 and J2SE 1.4.1_02
on Windows 2000 and RedHat 7.2

To reproduce:

1) Set the Explorer in focus, click somewhere
2) Type the spacebar

A detached textedit (for renaming a node?) appears
in the top right corner of the Explorer.

I was also confused by this when I saw it first time. But it is
ASDESIGNED. I do not know how it is called, but it allows you to
fastly select a node. Start typing name of the node and watch that
node which name begins with the entered text is selected.
