Description fred11 2002-10-18 12:13:43 UTC
Hello,

Well, ok, I have a French keyboard, which means I
have to use alt-) to type-in a curly brace.

The alt-key does not generate any character output
... It works fine if I change the keyboard to
american.

Could you please donwload and test the JEP app from
http://editor.netbeans.org/doc/KeyboardIssues/KeyboardIssues.html
whether it will work the same way there? Thank you.

I just tested the JEP editor : There was no problem in JEP to type in
curly brace or other characters.

Hi,
I think this is a known problem. I think it is caused by Apple
JDK. You can find more (and workaround too) on this page (section
"Known problems"):
http://www.netbeans.org/ide/support/mac.html
and in issue #11477 (see mainly section "PATCH INSTALATION").
I am closing this bug as a duplicate of #11477.
