It seems to be impossible to run a JPQL query (as described here: https://blogs.oracle.com/geertjan/test-jpql-with-netbeans-ide-73-tools) without using a pointing device to click on the execute button. Options > Keymap has no results for "JPQL" and "Query".

It should be possible to add a key binding for running the entered query.
