Description kgyuri 2017-02-27 07:16:23 UTC
I use Microchip MPLAB X IDE, based on Netbeans.
The IDE consums extremely huge, and increasing size RAM.
For example: I load a project, into the IDE. The reserved memory is cca 180 MB. I do nothing, just wait, and see the memory usage.
The memory usage increasing rapidly, half or one MB per sec, but sometimes
jumps 50-80 MB. Somewhere 650 - 700 MB it decreasing at once to 250 MB, and begins again. I can not imagine, what can do this software.
Can run with 180MB, but reserve several times size for garbage.
The IDE always slow down, and the react for a keystroke can reach the 1,5 sec!
It is absurd. I use Delphi, which is a far more complicated software, with bigger capatibles, and that handling many times bigger source code, and .exe files, but alwasy quick.
I see any keystrokes in real time, and that uses 20 percent memory of MPLAB X/NetBeans IDE.

The Microchip staff can not solve the problem for years.
Probably, the core of problem reside in the NetBeans.

The version is not clear to me, but this problem presents in all MPLAB X Version till nowadays.
