I posted a forum question about this:

but now the issue is more significant. It appears that when I disable or uninstall the modules that are a part of my platform app, it uninstalls the modules from netbeans. I end up having to de-install and re-install NB8.1 to get it working again. 

Regardless, it is confusing users and I don' think there is any way to keep them from showing up.
