Operating System = Linux version 3.13.0-24-generic running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_65
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.65-b01

Reproducibility: Happens every time

STEPS:
  * Open Netbeans
  *Right click on tool bar - > checked menu items are blank
 or
  *Click View fro menu bar.  > checked menu items are blank

ACTUAL:
  nothing happens

EXPECTED:
  message pops u

IMHO this is an issue of GTK L&F.

However, I'm not able to reproduce it in 8.2 dev builds on recent JDK 8.
