those warnings are generated by maven. NetBeans merely prints them in the output view. Specifically, release-profile with missing plugin versions is defined in the super POM (in maven-model-builder) along with a comment: "<!-- NOTE: The release profile will be removed from future versions of the super POM -->", so it may not be a good idea to use this profile anyway. That would be OK, except that the project will not change back to the default profile. up to the user - as long it is possible to compile with that profile, they might want to do so
