OS: Windows 7

User Comments:
micahtillman: This is a standard problem w/ NetBeans. Memory usage begins at ca. 300,000K and continually escelates from there (to over 1 million), causing machine-wide slowdowns and hangups, until the program is restarted, or the computer rebooted. As use of NetBeans continues over a series of weeks, the slowdowns and hangups increase--to the point where I am convinced that I will have to buy a new laptop--but after a few weeks of not using the NetBeans (b/c other class prep duties have replaced "coding" at the top of my to-do list), the computer reverts to it's normal operating speads.

I don't know where I and my students would be be w/o NetBeans, but it would be nice if memory usage could be kept down.

Thanks for all you do!
