I use a cygwin bash terminal inside NetBeans on Windows.  If I start vim from the netbeans terminal it always starts in replace mdoe rather than normal mode.  In the real cygwin bash terminal this does not happen.  If I remove the .vimrc file then this doesn;t happen but if I have a .vimrc file, even if it is empty, this happens.  I also wondered if it would be possible to add 256 color support to the terminal?
