The administration port could be: 1. Manually configurable (easier to write) 2. Automatically detected based on configuration file used. This would result in a need of xml parser involved and the plugin could become more heavyweight. The issue is parsing XML is not a valid solution : if the server was manually started you could have defined an offset which doesn't show in XML.
