Description leagurb 2014-05-14 21:46:56 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0 (Build 201403101706)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b69

Accepting the Editor Options update, without knowing what it would affect,and presuming that it would update with no side effects, turns out to be a mistake.

Could not the IDE warn me of affected modules, particularly ones that are pinned to a particular version, when it asks for the update to be accepted?

Alternately, could not the IDE offer to return to the previous state, to unaccept a module update?
