with netbeans 7.3.1 nodes appear using same db driver and same java version.

with netbeans 7.4 connection succeeds, but nodes do not appear.

does work with oracle:thin driver,

From the description and the screenshot I interpret this as a duplicate of bug 237345. It would be nice if you could test the proposed patch in the mentioned bug.
