The feedback about unsuccessful rename to user should be improved. Now when user enters invalid name (e.g. not an identifier or already existing name) the instant rename is simply canceled without any clue whats wrong

The instant rename popup has been disabled in 8.0 (bug 215138, comment 7)

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
