I installed IDE with the default Apache Tomcat server of 7.0.41. I discovered I need to go back to my own Tomcat installation and so added that server and reset the project to run the new server. It still used 7.0.41. I removed the 7.0.41 server and it still tried to us it. I stopped and started the IDE and then it worked

From the description this does not look like an issue with importing settings as the old tomcat installation was added manually. re-assigning for evaluation. Thank you

Can't reproduce. Are you sure it use the old server? Can you describe your steps in more details?

Since the original report is now almost 2 years old. I cannot now supply additional information!!!! For sure the world has moved on in two years!!!
