The main problem I have with plugins at the moment is, that some contributer seem not to be able (time...) to upgrade their plugins to newer platforms, eg http://plugins.netbeans.org/plugin/43281/formatted-text-copy is only available for NB 7.2.

Now I could just go to the source code on github, copy the plugin, repackage it and upload a NEW plugin, which is the same as the old one, but works with 7.3.

This is not a good approach. That's why it would be great to have an 'Apply for Contributer' Button/Functionality. If granted, by the original developer, I can see this plugin under 'My Plugins' now and am able to upload new versions of it.
