string vars copied out of the debug variables view now copy wrapped in quotes, this is a new and unwanted "feature"

no fix?  was this a vetted feature request, or just something that someone decided to add on their own? 

possible to get some understanding/explanation of the logic behind the need to add this?

It had some logical reason (fixing some issue), but now I can't remember what was it about...it's few month ago :/

But if you wish, we can track this issue as an enhancement for better solving this behavior, but it's not a defect.

know how that goes all too well.  if there was an issue behind it that caused it to be introduced then I'd agree it's not a defect, I approached it as something random that was inadvertently introduced.

please, if you wouldn't mind updating the status so that it can be updated to enhancement correctly that would be great.  Hopefully I'm not the only one struggling with this new behav, stripping unneeded quotes off on a copy/paste is a pita
