This is not very detailed bug report. If I were to deal with it I'd close it as invalid. More information from the report would indicate a x64 problem in autoupdate or launcher: I just tried it again under widows XP (32-bit), and it did not fail. However, the environment it failed under was 64-bit SuSE, (and Ubuntu) so it wasn't really a fair test. I don't have the 64-bit environment available right now. Here were the steps I followed. They were more or less the same both times. This was a clean install, and I installed JDK7 to a directory on the OS before installing Netbeans. ----------------------------------- download EE version run the installer (cd Downloads; sh <installer-name>) next > next > (OK license agreements) IDE location ... JDK location ... glass fish to :. apache tomcat to: ... Install "contribute to netbeans" OK starting netbeans clicked install plugins (on the start page) (available plugins tab is default) checked 'groovy and grails' clicked install next OK EULA Click "yes" Restart IDE Please provide list of files in your installation as well as your --userdir. $ find path-to-nb >list.txt is probably the format. You can close this bug. I tried it again on the same platform it had failed on, and this time it worked. I conclude that it was a temporary failure of some sort (e.g. network connection somewhere).
