After a debug session, netbeans froze (I was unable to click the buttons in the the error popup - but was able to move popup).

See attached screenshot and stacktrace (stacktrace was taken using VisualVM).

Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201012060001)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.6.5 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_22
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 17.1-b03-307

could you please attach what exception happened?
it is located in .netbeans/dev/var/log file

Thanks for using development builds :-)
In log we can see a lot of exceptions and it could be the reason of slowing down IDE. 

most probably, You use the version where we had broken code model repository
- try to remove: ${userdir}/var/cache/cnd
- if it doesn't help, please, try more recent build from http://bertram.netbeans.org/hudson/job/cnd-main/ to make sure all our current fixes are in bits.
