The normal (e.g. non-XML) editor for persistence.xml doesn't offer support for the jar-file element. Support for this would be nice if (like me) you put your JPA model classes in a separate JAR file / project.
Also, would be nice if NetBeans recognised this (e.g. detected my JPA model JAR is used by both an EJB project and Java SE app) and stopped complaining about not having a persistence.xml file in the JPA model project.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
