Smarty editor is using snippets from "HTML" context instead of "SMARTY Templates". IMHO it should use Code Templates from "SMARTY Templates" firslty and than "HTML" from context.

Actually it should work so that every language (PHP, HTML, Smarty) should work on its own place ... so <?php for PHP, everywhere for HTML and after { delimiter for Smarty.

I agree that code templates doesn't work also after Smarty delimiters but it should be already opened issue here: 183360

Closing as duplicate for now. Thanks for reporting, I will try to take a look on that soon.
