Also: on windows 7 buttons like new folder are not displayed, they seem to be hidden. Only hovering is displayed. maghiel, I've filed a report about the icons: bug 181599. The dev 7.1 still uses this deficient file system dialog. This lowers efficiency of my work. The 7.3 beta 2 still uses this deficient file system dialog. This lowers efficiency of my work. Please improve this aspect! |
Created attachment 93576 [details] a better file system dialog The file system dialog that Netbeans currently uses is very inconvenient. Perhaps, it's standard Java component, but it's not enough. It's a poor approximation of what's already available. Windows (at least Vista and Win 7) provide file system dialog box that is much more convenient. It gives access to many things that make accessing file system locations much faster, e.g. Favorites, Documents, etc. You can see what I am talking about using Komodo IDE, Notepad++ (only open file dialog), Firefox, etc. Actually, I will attach a screenshot, so that you'll have no difficulty understanding what I am referring to.
