Please attach the ide log with the detailed error message. View->IDE log thanks Do you use any non-ascii characters in the commit message? View->IDE Log may not contain the complete log file. The complete log file is stored in directory <userdir>/var/log/messages.log You can find the path to the user-dir from the About-dialogue (Help > About) - see the last line in the dialogue. Marking as INCOMPLETE until we have enough information. Since the release of 6.8 I am able to commit with a message.
