screen shot of dialog while uninstalling NB 6.8M1
By searching in the registry, i see that there actually is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\nbi-nb-base-6.8.0.0.200908022240 I guess you delete .nbi folder Dima, please comment Looks like it really had place. To cleanly uninstall the NB 6.8M1 read http://wiki.netbeans.org/NBIFAQ Another case is when the installation directory was moved to another place. The solution would be return in back to the directory when it was originally installed and run the uninstaller. It`s worth showing the more informative description maybe with URL to the details in both cases. Probably "registry" should not be used in that message since it ofter confuses users and mixed with Windows registry. Strange, as I do not think i have ever deleted the .nbi directory nor ever changed the installation directory for any of my NB installations. I followed the NBIFAQ instructions, except for when it says to remove my .nbi directory: i don't think i would want to do that, because, as i understand, that applies to all my NB installations, and i do not want to remove them all, i only want to remove 6.8. Looks like 6.8 is cleaned out of my system, except maybe for whatever is in the .nbi directory. If you do not have any other comments on this (for example about your registry nbi, is it ok like i have it now, or is it compromised at this point, and if so, does it matter?), i will close this issue. Assigned to new owner. |
