[ JDK VERSION : 1.6.* ]

After opening a .java file for editing and deleting dead code (i.e.
comments) the IDE hangs; I can still resize the window but the
contents remain black; the UI is unresponsive.
Maven Java web application. Large .java file (~6 KLOC).
