When I create files from the Files View the file is created but the file tree view is collapsed, which usually means
that I have to expand several levels of directories to get back to the view that I had right before I created the file.
 It would save me a lot of time if the UI left the file tree in the same state as it was before I create the file.

This is still a problem in NetBeans 7.
