Reassigning to web for evaluation. this is more a serverplugin issue... A quick clarification and some questions. Clarification: the presence of the glassfish v2 integration plugin (http://www.netbeans.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/74811/plugins_shows_glassfish_installed.PNG) does not mean that Glassfish v2 is installed on your system... It just means that if it is installed on your system, then you can register a domain and use it as the deployment target for J2EE/Java EE projects. Questions: 1. How did you install the IDE? What is the name of the file that you used to install NB 6.5? 2. Did you install GlassFish v2 when you installed NetBeans 6.5 or have you installed GlassFish v2 separately? 3. When NetBeans started, did you import settings from 6.1? 1. How did you install the IDE? What is the name of the file that you used to install NB 6.5? I installed 6.5 release: netbeans-6.5-ml-windows.exe 2. Did you install GlassFish v2 when you installed NetBeans 6.5 or have you installed GlassFish v2 separately? I do not recall telling the installer to install GlassFish. If so, how do I install it? Why does it not show up in the plugins available for me to select to install? 3. When NetBeans started, did you import settings from 6.1? Yes, and I did not install any GlassFish in 6.1. So the bottom line is that the plugins list is misleading. Since I did not have the NB installer install GlassFish, can I install it via the plugins window? If not then why? And how do I go about installing it? The plugin for v2 does not 'install' the server. The v3 plugin does support install functionality via the download now button. None of the other server integration plugins (tomcat, jboss, weblogic and/or websphere) support installing the server from inside the IDE. Extending the v2 plugin to incorporate this feature is not scheduled for 7.0... since we have a lot of work that needs to happen across the Java EE spectrum of projects to support Java EE 6 development. no issue should be assigned to issues. redistributing the load changes to the v2 plugin are not high priority |
