I have notice this from time to time on Both linux and mac but have not found a way to reproduce it yet. yes, I do see this file too on windows vista. Found case to reproduce this issue. Steps: -Run python project -Run Test on project (no need to actually have any tests) -Change the Python platform for the project from Jython to Python -Run the project again, then run test again -Select another application or at least remove focus from the IDE -Now change focus to the IDE window again and the file <project name>$py.class will become visible. System: Build 558 Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20090109152915) Java: 1.5.0_16; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_16-133 System: Mac OS X version 10.5.5 running on i386; MacRoman; en_US (nb) yes, this is a reproducible scenario. Thanks for providing it here. Not sure it is still relevant with the current version. Closing this as old bug. If this is still a thing, please reopen and accept my apologies.
