1. Connect to some DB.
2. Expand it's node, expand "Tables" node, rightclick some table and choose "Add Column...".

Result: "OK" button is enabled, but not all obligatory data is entered.

It looks like the only required field is the name.  Does that sound correct?

Also, the right netbeans thing to do would be to add the info message at the bottom
of the dialog.  Should I do that as well?

I'm not sure, but you can try to enter name and click "OK". If there is no error message, then only this field is required.
I also filed issue #151756 about info message.

This issue should be fixed as part of Issue 151756.

Closing this issue as FIXED.
