1. Rightclick "Databases" node and choose "Register MySQL server".
2. Enter remote host for host name and the rest of parameters.
3. Stop remote MySQL server and click "OK" in "Register MySQL server" dialog.

Result: Connection isn't established, but node is added and in it's name there is 'localhost' instead of real host name.
Saw this on Mac OS X.
