Bug 132106

Summary: Usability: Connection properties dialog should use the same name
Product: soa Reporter: jlautz <jlautz>
Component: Composite ApplicationAssignee: Jun Qian <jqian>
Status: VERIFIED FIXED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P4
Version: 6.x
Hardware: PC
OS: Solaris
Issue Type: DEFECT Exception Reporter:
Attachments: Dialog after clicking QoS icon.
Rt-click -> Properties dialog on a connection

Description jlautz 2008-04-04 19:24:09 UTC
Seen with M8 build on Solaris x86:

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200803251204) - Java CAPS Enabled
Java: 1.5.0_11; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_11-b03
System: SunOS version 5.10 running on x86; ISO646-US; en (nb)
Userdir: /Users/lautz/sierrabuilds/JavaCAPSM8/.netbeans/caps

When I choose Properties on a connection I get a dialog labeled "<connection identifier> - Properties".

When I click QoS on a connection I get a dialog for the exact same properties as the dialog above, but it's labeled
"Config QoS Properties".

It's confusing to have two labels for the same dialog that configures the same dialogs (also causes doc and test
automation problems). Please use only one consistently.

Screenshots attached.

Clarification: "Choose Properties" means rt click on the connection and choose Properties.

BTW -- my suggestion is more like what we do with edit icons on the Ports.
