Hi, what do you mean that it's not available in your menu? There is no Tools menu in the main menu bar or there is no Options menu item when you open the Tools menu or the options dialog does not show up when you click Tools-Options? Also what version of IDE, JDK and OS are you using? Thanks Sorry, I should have been more clear. I do have a Tools menu. Options is not available on the Tools menu. NetBeans IDE: 6.0 (Build 200711261600) OS: Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 JDK: 1.6 (1.6.0-b-88-17-release) Just let me know if you need more info. Thanks AFAIK, on Mac OS X, the Tools/Options menu item is moved somewhere else (NetBeans/Preferences, if I remember correctly). Ok, I do see the editor options under NetBeans preferences. Consider updating the help documentation to reflect this. Yes, I can confirm it, Tools -> Options is the same as NetBeans -> Preferences on Mac A solution for this could be to add the mac location to the main Options window topic. Would this be sufficient? Note that there is already a Mac-specific help topic in the helpset, which described among other things exactly this situation. Should it be more prominent somewhere? Not all Mac users are going to immediately think that the topic doesn't apply to them is because of Mac-specific differences. Other reasons might seem more likely (e.g. the doc is outdated). We should consider putting something like "(on Mac OS, NetBeans > Preferences)" after occurrences of "Tools > Options" in the Help. Ugly, but.... I think that it could be a little more prominent. Links to the mac topic could be added to topics where it is particularly relevant, such as the options and configuring the IDE topic(s) though the chances that a topic in the help might be outdated are slim, I would say that the Mac OS steps be added to only a couple of the most important topic locations, eg Configuring the IDE, the main Options window topic. certainly not all instances where Options is mentioned. the link to the Options window topic is probably enough to help the user locate the relevant steps. and links to mac os page from those main pages References to Preferences has been added in some places, but I can't really call this fixed. The issue, which was filed against online help: to add that on Mac OS the Tools > Options menu is available as NetBeans
> Preferences, can be considered fixed.
References to NetBeans > Preferences on Mac have been added to several topics relevant to Tools > Options.
Closing the issue as fixed.
