I looked in Tools-Options -> Keymap -> Other and the 'Extends Selection Up'... actions are only bound to shift-UP comparing to 'Insertion Point Up'... actions, which are bound to both UP, KP_UP. We'll fix that. In the meantime you can add the extra bindings yourself, just find the actions in Tools-Options -> Keymap -> Other, select the action you want to change and hit 'Add...' button. In the little dialog press the key combination you want to bind the action to and confirm the dialog with 'OK'. At the end confirm all the changes you've done by OKeying the Tools-Options dialog.
